Beliefs about God
The Trinity
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ as the unique and divine Son of God, fully God and fully human (John 1:14; Colossians 2:9), who entered human history to reveal God's love, truth, and grace (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:4-5). Through His incarnation, life of perfect obedience, sacrificial death on the cross (Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Peter 2:24), victorious resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:3-4), and glorious ascension (Acts 1:9-11), Jesus accomplished redemption and reconciliation for humanity, offering forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7), eternal life (John 10:10), and adoption into God's family (Galatians 4:4-7) to all who believe.
The Holy Spirt
We acknowledge the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son (Matthew 3:16-17; Acts 5:3-4). The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), regenerates and indwells believers (Titus 3:5; 1 Corinthians 6:19), empowers them for ministry (Acts 1:8), illuminates the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 2:10-12), guides (John 16:13), comforts (John 14:26), sanctifies (1 Peter 1:2), and produces spiritual fruit (Galatians 5:22-23) and gifts (1 Corinthians 12:4-11) for service in the body of Christ.
The Bible
We affirm the divine inspiration, authority, sufficiency, and reliability of the Bible as God's Word (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21), consisting of the Old and New Testaments, inspired by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:20-21), and without error in its original writings (Psalm 119:160; John 10:35). The Bible serves as the supreme and final authority for faith, doctrine, morality (Psalm 19:7-11), and spiritual guidance (Psalm 119:105), leading believers to know God, understand His will, and live according to His purposes.
Salvation
We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 4:12), not by works (Romans 3:20; Galatians 2:16), acknowledging the fallenness of humanity due to sin (Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3) and the need for redemption. Salvation is a gift of God's love and mercy (Ephesians 2:4-5; Titus 3:4-7), accomplished through Christ's atoning sacrifice on the cross (Romans 5:8-10; Hebrews 9:26-28), received by repentance (Acts 3:19), faith (John 3:16), and surrender to Him (Romans 10:9-10), resulting in justification (Romans 5:1), regeneration (Titus 3:5), adoption into God's family (Galatians 4:4-7), and the assurance of eternal life (John 5:24; 1 John 5:11-13).
Christian Living
We embrace Christian living as a holistic expression of faith, characterized by love for God (Matthew 22:37-38) and others (Matthew 22:39; 1 John 4:7-12), obedience to Christ's teachings (John 14:15; James 1:22), transformation of character (Romans 12:2; 2 Corinthians 5:17), spiritual disciplines (1 Timothy 4:7-8), prayer (Philippians 4:6-7), worship (John 4:23-24), stewardship of God's resources (1 Corinthians 4:2; 1 Peter 4:10), ethical conduct (Colossians 3:17; Titus 2:11-12), service (Galatians 5:13; Ephesians 2:10), and witness (Matthew 28:19-20). Christian living reflects the values, virtues, and priorities of God's kingdom (Matthew 6:33; Romans 14:17), impacting every area of life with integrity (Proverbs 10:9), humility (Philippians 2:3-4), compassion (Colossians 3:12), and authenticity (1 Thessalonians 2:4).
The Church
We uphold the universal Church as the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-27), comprised of believers from diverse backgrounds and cultures, united by faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (Ephesians 4:4-6). The Church gathers in local congregations for worship (Hebrews 10:24-25), fellowship (Acts 2:42-47), discipleship (2 Timothy 2:2), ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12), and mission (Matthew 28:19-20), expressing unity in essentials of faith (Ephesians 4:3), diversity in non-essentials (Romans 14:1), and love in all things (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). The Church practices sacraments or ordinances (1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Matthew 28:19-20) as symbols of spiritual realities (Romans 6:3-4) and participates in God's redemptive work (1 Peter 2:9; Ephesians 3:10) through evangelism (Acts 1:8), discipleship (Matthew 28:19), community engagement (Galatians 6:10), and acts of compassion and justice (Micah 6:8).
End Times and Eschatology
We hold beliefs about the end times and eschatology (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 21:1-4) based on biblical teachings (Matthew 24-25; 1 Corinthians 15; Revelation 19-22), anticipating the fulfillment of God's redemptive plan and the consummation of His kingdom. This includes the personal return of Jesus Christ in glory (Acts 1:11; Revelation 1:7), the resurrection of the dead (1 Corinthians 15:52), the final judgment (Revelation 20:11-15), the establishment of a new heaven and earth (Revelation 21:1-5), the defeat of evil (Revelation 20:10), the rewards for the faithful (Matthew 25:21; Revelation 22:12), and the eternal state of fellowship with God (Revelation 21:3-4) in the new creation.
Mission and Outreach
We are committed to the mission of the Church as commissioned by Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20), embodying the Great Commandment to love God (Matthew 22:37-38) and love others (Matthew 22:39; 1 John 4:7-12) and fulfilling the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). This mission encompasses evangelism (Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8), proclaiming the gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ (Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 1:18), teaching biblical truth (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Titus 2:1), nurturing spiritual growth (Ephesians 4:11-16; Colossians 1:28), fostering Christian community and unity (Ephesians 4:3; Philippians 2:1-4), promoting social justice (Micah 6:8; James 1:27), addressing human needs (Matthew 25:35-36; Galatians 2:10), serving the marginalized and vulnerable (Matthew 25:40; Luke 4:18-19), engaging in cross-cultural ministry (Acts 13:1-3; Revelation 7:9), and partnering with others in God's kingdom work (1 Corinthians 3:6-9; Philippians 1:3-5) to bring about transformation, reconciliation, and the advancement of God's reign of love and righteousness on earth as it is in heaven.
Creation and Providence
We believe in the loving providence of God, who sustains all life and orchestrates the course of history according to His divine plan (Psalm 145:9; Acts 14:17; Matthew 6:26). His care extends to every aspect of creation, from the smallest creature to the grandest design, demonstrating His goodness and faithfulness.
Humanity and Image of God
We affirm the intrinsic value and dignity of every person, created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 139:14; James 3:9). This foundational truth shapes our respect for human life, diversity, and the sacredness of each individual's identity and purpose.
Sin and Redemption
We embrace the transformative power of redemption through Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18-19; Titus 3:5), who offers forgiveness, restoration, and new life to all who believe, bringing healing, reconciliation, and a renewed purpose.
Grace and Justification
We affirm the sufficiency of God's grace for salvation (Romans 3:24; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11), emphasizing that our salvation is a gift freely given, received through faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross.
Sanctification and Transformation
We embrace the journey of sanctification, recognizing the Holy Spirit's transformative work in our lives. As we yield to His guidance and power, we are progressively conformed to the image of Christ, growing in holiness, character, and spiritual maturity. 2 Corinthians 3:18; Philippians 1:6; 1 Thessalonians 5:23
Spiritual Gifts and Ministry
We recognize and celebrate the diversity of spiritual gifts and ministries within the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-31; Romans 12:4-8; Ephesians 4:11-12), empowering believers for service, mission, and building up the Church.
Eternal Life and Hope
We hold fast to the hope of eternal life and the promise of resurrection (John 11:25-26; 1 Corinthians 15:52-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17), anchored in the victory of Jesus Christ over sin and death.
Ethical Standards and Integrity
We uphold honesty, fairness, and compassion as foundational values (Proverbs 16:11; Micah 6:8; Colossians 3:9-10), guided by biblical principles of integrity, justice, and love.
Interfaith Relations and Dialogue
We are committed to fostering understanding, respect, and cooperation among people of diverse faiths and backgrounds (Romans 12:16; 1 Corinthians 10:32; 1 Peter 3:8-9), seeking common ground and extending love and kindness to all.
At Dual Citizen
We believe in fulfilling the Great Commission
We believe in the mission entrusted to us by Jesus Christ to proclaim the gospel, make disciples, and impact the world with God’s love and truth. This mission is rooted in the Great Commission, where we are called to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything Jesus commanded. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit to be witnesses, sharing the good news of salvation, and living out the values and teachings of Jesus Christ in every aspect of our lives and endeavors.
